Chef Sylvain Rivet’s popular Renaissance Patisserie will have a new home at Specialty Shops SouthPark, Charlotte’s upscale shopping and dining destination located in SouthPark. Renaissance Patisserie will begin construction this fall and is slated to open by the end of the year.

Chef Rivet was born in Paris and is a classically-trained French chef who has traveled the world cooking. He lived in California for ten years where he owned an award-winning restaurant in Simi Valley and worked for some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood including Oprah Winfrey and the Jackson family. In 2011, he and his family moved to Charlotte when his wife transferred here with Bank of America.

After opening stands at local farmers’ markets, Chef Rivet quickly established a loyal following of devoted foodies and his reputation for offering deliciously-authentic French pastries quickly grew. To satisfy the sweet tooth of his growing fan base, in 2013 he opened the café on South Boulevard.

Chef Rivet is devoted to the art of fine pastry and knows that freshness is the key to quality; he often uses local products and only uses the best ingredients available. Like its South Boulevard location, which will be closing, Renaissance Patisserie at Specialty Shops SouthPark will offer a delicious variety of French pastries, quiches, flatbreads, and more, including several gluten-free options.

“Specialty Shops is the kind of place where people go not only to shop, but to have wonderful food and great experiences,” said Chef Rivet. “My café offers no better place to feed the senses; as soon as you enter, the aromas, sounds, and atmosphere take you to a small corner of France.”

“Renaissance Patisserie is a strategic addition to Specialty Shops SouthPark – the café’s food, its atmosphere, the commitment to customer service – are all first-class,” said Robert H. Spratt,

Jr. President of Hill Partners, Inc. “This is a time of growth for SouthPark and we are very excited to welcome another unique and much-loved concept to Specialty Shops SouthPark.”

Renaissance Patisserie’s 1,983-square-foot cafe will be located in the courtyard next to Toscana Ristorante. For additional information on Renaissance Patisserie please visit www.renaissancepatisserie.com.
